Free Pattern: Moomin Inspired/ Hooks Stand

Notes in my language: 小屋製作完成了。拍片和剪輯真的很花時間。不過能夠分享這個有趣(又帶點忙亂)的過程,也是值得吧?把鉤織有趣一面介紹給大家是我的志業!^^!

My tools of crocheting are pretty simple. It is just a bag for hooks and a drawer with 3 levels. Lately I want to make a hook stand which I can easily pick the hooks. I am so happy to share the process of building this house. You may like to make a house of your version after watching the video?

First, you need to prepare :

  • A ball of cord
  • Yarn of acrylic 133m/50g , I use light blue for this
  • Red yarn of acrylic, 133m/50g for the roof
  • White yarn 133m/50g for the roof edge
  • Felt for windows and door, preferably white and brown
  • Embroidery thread
  • A plastic bottle
  • Optional: hot glue gun

Let’s start

Brick House >>
Moomin’s house is a lovely brick house painted with light blue. To capture the texture of “bricks”, I crocheted with the light blue yarn wrapping the white cord inside the stitches.

I measured the circumstances of the plastic bottle with the cord, then crochet single stitches along, the cord is about 26 cm long with 30 single crochets along it. Crochet in spiral.

The house is for storing crochet hooks, so 15 rows is good for me… of course you can design and decide the height you like!

Roof>>
Then for the roof , starting with red yarn, crochet in rows, i.e. slip stitch then chain one to start the new row.

BPO= back post only fasten off, change to white
R14 : ch 1 and 1 sc on the first stitch , 1bobble, 20 [ 1 sc, 1 bobble stitch] ( 42 )
sl st with the first stitch of this row, fasten off

Then you have to measure the dimension of windows and doors then cut out the felt accordingly, embroider the door frame and window frame. Making window frames is an interesting part, I have shared a tactic which make the frames look more realistic in the video. umum… it is quite complicated to describe the tactics verbally, please check out the video…^^!
